Students abroad claim attention of new high education minister in Saudi Arabia

We need to raise our support payments and focus on health care

After the Saudi government appointed Dr Khaled Alssabti as the new high education minister, Saudi students who study abroad claimed that Dr Alssabti should find solutions for their issues, such as raise their support payments and focus on health care. Students who study in the United States, the United Kingdom and Malaysia said that related problems have had an adverse effect on studying and reflect on their expenses. Ahmed Almuntashri who studies in the UK says, “The life has become expensive and has impacted on our daily life. It is difficult to study and think about other things. On the other hand, Saudi schools in the UK should open Saturday and Sunday because our children need more education about the Arabic language.” He also thinks the new minister should pay attention to matters of health care because health care was given less attention under the former minister. Galyah Khyat who studies in the U.S. believes that the high education ministry should open new majors for Saudi females and connect studies with community need. Sultan Hunathel, a student in Malaysia, thinks the Saudi government shouldreview scholarships to Malaysia and give students greater opportunities to study there.
